Around Texas A&M University, study spots come in all shapes and sizes.

If you want a bright, open atmosphere with outlets to power your laptop, there’s a nearby coffee shop for that. There are also plenty of unique and creative spots around town that encourage students to use their area as safe havens for studying and meeting with friends. These spots have been tested by alumni and current students alike, earning a place in our guide as one of the best study spots in College Station, TX.

Local Coffee Shops

Rooster’s Bike & Coffee Shop

Rooster’s Bike & Coffee Shop offers a neat concept around bikes and genuine hospitality. Their atmosphere is laid back, providing an excellent place to hang out and study with unlimited Wi-Fi. The baristas at the coffee shop can make your coffee any way you like, or you can ask for one of their very own “barista special” creations. Bagels and non-coffee drinks are available for purchase, so you don’t have to worry if you get hungry. The bonus? It’s also an excellent bike shop that has free lifetime tune-ups if you buy a new or used bike from them. Rooster’s Bike & Coffee Shop is open Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Brew Coffee House

This coffee house is a delightful spot for light studying, especially when meeting with your study group. Besides having a great coffee menu to order from as you study, the ambiance is also welcoming.

You can go in the late afternoon to study since they close at 9 pm from Monday to Sunday. There is plenty of space in The Brew Coffee House for students who want to learn since it has an extension. 

Minuti Coffee

Minuti Coffee is an American coffee shop that sells 100% Italian coffee and organic, fair-trade 100% Arabica coffees. The shop has deep roots in the Italian culture and is currently the only business in the U.S. that offers Molinari brand coffee straight from Italy. Students can also order breakfast, lunch, and snack items from a modest menu, as well as gelato, smoothies, and tea. Their atmosphere is serene and welcoming, with indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to study alone or meet up for a group study session. Minuti Coffee is a 10-minute bike ride from campus and is open every day until 10:00 pm.

Sweet Eugene’s House of Java

This location will work if you look for a study spot with a WI-FI connection. You can choose a sofa to sit on with your books and order coffee and your favorite snack.

Hunger will not be a distraction as long as you are in this space. The best thing is that Sweet Eugene’s House of Java stays open up to midnight. It provides an excellent spot for you to study even on late nights.

Einstein Bros Bagels

If you are looking for a place with delicious snacks and a great ambiance to facilitate studying, you should consider this spot. Einstein Bros Bagels ensures that you access online study resources via a WI-FI connection. Also, they have a variety of snacks for you to order from.

Harvest Coffee Bar

Harvest Coffee Bar offers a cozy vibe that ensures you have a calm mind to allow you to study in peace if you are looking for a way to break the monotony of learning in your dorm room or the library.

It’s a great spot for group study since there is plenty of space. You can add Harvest Coffee Bar to the list of locations you would like to make your new study spot and try it and see how it goes.

The Village Cafe

The Village Cafe is a perfect study spot, especially if you find yourself without a good place to study during the day. You can have your lunch in this spot and study simultaneously. Since it’s a public venue, you might not be able to do in-depth studying in this spot, but it’s still an excellent place for group study sessions.

Libraries

Sterling C. Evans Library

Texas A&M University is home to the Sterling C. Evans Library. This multi-level facility is part of the campus’ group of five libraries, ranking as number one on the Association of Research Libraries ranking list. Students have access to various educational tools, including thousands of academic databases, individual and group study rooms, and an interlibrary loan program for books not readily available. The first floor has a lounge and coffee shop, while the top four floors are designated as quiet areas for students to sprawl out and study. 

Sterling C. Evans Library & Annex

Sterling C. Evans Library & Annex is a two-building facility located near the Central Campus Parking Garage.

Larry J. Ringer Library

Larry J. Ringer Library is about 4 miles away from campus. It’s easy to drive to get to and can also make for a good bike ride to get your blood flowing before a study session. Locals describe the library’s atmosphere as modern, comfortable, and quiet, with friendly staff that can answer all of your questions. There are desks, study nooks, padded rocking chairs, and other areas students can utilize as study space. Private study rooms and conference rooms are also available to the public and can be reserved without a library card. If you need a little break from studying inside, the library is next door to Georgie K. Fitch Park, where you can stretch those legs out and get some fresh air.

Unique Study Spots

Memorial Student Center

The Memorial Student Center at TAMU can accommodate students with large conference rooms a variety of workspaces and offers a plethora of nooks and crannies to hide out and study. At each entrance are the Respect Lounge and Veterans Lounge. These lounges are dedicated quiet spaces for students to learn or relax in, with tables, comfortable seating, and warm lighting. The Stephen Horn ’79 Flag Room, coined the “living room” of the campus, is a unique study space all on its own. With incredibly high ceilings, oversized couches, and open space, the Flag Room is a home away from home for students. An information desk is located at the south end of the hall to answer any questions.

Northpoint Crossing
